sex without love

In the poem "Sex Without Love" by Sharon Olds she talk about how even though people are having sex and are physically touching and being next to another person they are still very much alone in this universe. "They do not mistake the lover for their own pleasure, they are like great runners: they know they are alone". Olds gives very detailed imagery of some hot sex between two people fingers hooked inside each other's bodies, faces red as steak, wine, wet as the children at birth" In this poem she also talks about How they do it" referring to how people have sex if they dont love each other. Old thinks its beautiful and nice but just understand it.  It happens all the time its just and activity most people do, for some people it means more then for other people.
